FASEB MARC Poster/Platform Presenter Travel Awards Available
Application Receipt Deadline Date: May 15, 2015 (5:00 PM EDT)
The Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB) Maximizing Access to Research Careers (MARC) Program provides funding for travel awards to encourage and support the participation of underrepresented students and postdoctoral fellows at scientific meetings and conferences. The travel awards help to defray meeting registration and travel-related expenses (lodging, transportation, per diem) for eligible underrepresented undergraduate and PhD/graduate students and postdoctoral fellows who are pursuing education and careers in the biomedical and behavioral sciences.
The travel awards provide up to $1,850 in funding for meeting registration and travel-related expenses to each award recipient. Travel awards are processed as reimbursements to the award recipients. An award recipient will be required to pay his/her meeting- and travel-related expenses first, and then request reimbursement from the FASEB MARC Program Office after completion of the meeting/conference.
To receive support from the FASEB MARC Program, all applicants must be USA citizens, or non-citizen nationals, or permanent residents of the USA. In addition, the applicants must reside within the USA or USA territories. An individual lawfully admitted for permanent residence must possess an alien registration receipt card (I-551 -- commonly known as a 'green card') prior to applying for funding and participation. Individuals on temporary or student visas, those seeking asylum, or refugees are not eligible for FASEB MARC Program funding or support.
