Location: Durham, NC

Announcement Number: RTP-ORD-42-2015-0001

EPA’s Office of Research Development and the National Center for Computational Toxicology (NCCT) are seeking a computational toxicologist to conduct research into the development and application of computational toxicology approaches to analyze data from high-throughput in vitro assays, transcriptomic, in vivo toxicity studies, and chemical properties and integrate the information with pharmacokinetic and exposure-related properties to assess the risks associated with environmental chemicals. The successful applicant has a doctoral degree (PhD or DSc) in toxicology, biochemistry, pharmacology, or a related field with a strong background in computational modeling, statistics, or informatics. Experience in analyzing and interpreting high-throughput screening and transcriptomic data is desired, but not required.

EPA’s National Center for Computational Toxicology is located in Research Triangle Park, NC. The NCCT provides scientific leadership, understanding and tools related to the application of mathematical, computational, and statistical approaches to mine, model, and integrate data derived from new technologies in chemistry, biotechnology, and molecular biology. Part of NCCT’s mission is to enable regulatory and non-regulatory Agency programs to integrate data from the new technologies together with computational, mathematical, and statistical models for making efficient and economical chemical safety decisions. More information about NCCT is available at: http://www2.epa.gov/aboutepa/about-national-center-computational-toxicology-ncct.
