Monday's program starts with a special session honoring F. Clarke Fraser, Past President and founding member of the Teratology Society. Join us in the Westmount Room for Remembering F. Clarke Fraser, a reflection on Dr. Fraser's enduring impact on the field of teratology.
Two great sessions will occur at 9:00 am. The Wiley-Blackwell Symposium entitled Are Human Skeletal Malformations the Result of Embryonic Arterial Dysgenesis? will take place in the Westmount room. The symposium on human skeletal malformations will provide an overview of normal and abnormal development of the arteries of the human limb, followed by presentations from clinicians and basic researchers, which support a relationship between arterial dysgenesis and some common skeletal malformations.
Also starting at 9:00 am is Regulatory Neurodevelopmental Testing: New Guiding Principles For Harmonization Of Data Collection and Analysis Workshop, a joint session with the NBTS. This session will be held in the Outremont room. The Regulatory Neurodevelopmental Testing Workshop provides an opportunity to develop more harmonized scientific approaches for analyzing, evaluating and reporting neurobehavioral and morphometric data.
The March of Dimes Symposium will begin at 1:30 pm in the Westmount room and is a joint session with OTIS. This symposium, Perinatal Outcomes Following Assisted Reproductive Technologies, will present the latest research on perinatal outcomes following ART, including the birth defect prevalence and neurological development in offspring conceived by ART. Other presentations include the epigenetics concerns in ART in both humans and animal models, an overview of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s State Monitoring of Assisted Reproductive Technologies (SMART) program, and perinatal outcomes of multiple births often associated with ART.
Also starting at 1:30 pm is The Reactive Oxygen Species, Oxidative Stress and Redox Signaling in Developmental Toxicology Symposium, held in the Mont Royal room. The Symposium will begin with an overview of reactive oxygen species generation, oxidative stress, and redox signaling in toxicology and will include presentations on how changes in the redox state of the conceptus can produce differential effects on the thiol proteome, activation of the Nrf2 pathway, and other important developmental pathways.
Poster presentations from the Teratology Society, International Neurotoxicology Association (INA), Neurobehavioral Teratology Society (NBTS), and the Organization Teratology Information Specialists (OTIS) will begin at 6:00 pm. Be sure to take a break and visit with the Exhibitors who provide valued services and products that are essential to our research.
