Teratology Society Annual Meeting Highlights - Sunday, June 26

Morning Highlights

Coffee and pastries will be available for meeting attendees in Texas Ballroom A at 7:30 am.

The Josef Warkany Lecture will begin in Texas Ballroom D at 8:15 am. This year’s lecture will be given by Elaine M. Faustman. Come see Dr. Faustman’s lecture, Framing Our Birth Defects Questions with Systems Biology: Learning from Our Mentors. This lecture is a joint session with DNTS and OTIS.

At 9:00 am, the Student/Postdoctoral Fellow Platform Session will be held in Texas Ballroom D. Ten presentations will be given during this session, the two best presentations in the session will receive the Wilson Presentation Award.

Afternoon and Evening Highlights

Two symposia will be held Sunday afternoon. The State of the Art of Testing Drugs: Present and Future begins at 2:30 pm in Texas Ballroom D. The Pregnancy Registry Updates Symposium, a joint session with OTIS, will be held inTexas Ballroom E at 2:30 pm.

At 6:00 pm in Texas Ballroom B, the exhibit hall will be open for the Welcome Reception. During this time, there will also be a Student and Postdoctoral Fellow Research Showcase as well as a chance to visit the Annual Meeting Exhibitors.

Annual Meeting Awards

The F. Clarke Fraser New Investigator Award will be presented by Marilyn Preus to Nicole Kleinstreuer at 1:30 pm in Texas Ballroom D. Dr. Kleinstreuer will present a lecture entitled Of Mice, Math, and Modeling.

The James G. Wilson Publication Award will be presented to Marilyn Silva at 2:00 pm in Texas Ballroom D. This annual award is presented in recognition of the best paper published in the journal Birth Defects Research. Dr. Silva will discuss her award-winning paper at this time.

The Patricia Rodier Mid-Career Award for Research and Mentoring will be presented to Christina Chambers at 5:30 pm in Texas Ballroom D. This is a joint session with DNTS.

Other Activities of Note

A Spouse and Guest Meet-and-Greet will be held in Republic A at 10:00 am. This event is free and open to guests of all registered attendees of the Teratology Society, DNTS, and OTIS meetings.
