This National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA, RFA-AA-17-007) seeks to continue support of the previously funded “Collaborative Initiative on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders” (CIFASD), a multidisciplinary consortium of domestic and international projects established to address the prevention of fetal alcohol spectrum disorders; the diagnosis of the full range of birth defects associated with prenatal alcohol exposure; and ameliorative interventions for affected individuals. The initiative aims to accelerate the translation of key research findings by fostering collaboration and coordinating clinical, basic, and translational research. Through this FOA, applications are sought that will continue research efforts of the CIFASD consortium. Cooperative Agreement (U01) applications in response to this FOA should propose individual clinical or basic research projects. See the FOA for Companion Funding Opportunities.
